Quereataro’s French Quarter
Queretaro’s French Quarter
The building where Hank’s Queretaro is now housed, used to be a part of the Saint Francis of Assisi Convent, during the Viceroyalty era.
In this place, it was proposed to build a new government palace, but it was not carried out and the property was sold to Don Cipriano Bueno who built between 1890-1893 a building destined for a luxurious hotel. This colonial building has witnessed important stages in the history of Santiago de Querétaro and throughout Mexico.
It currently houses several businesses, including the already famous Hank’s, still called Harry’s by many, opened in 2004. A meeting place for the Queretaro’s society and tourists, whether at the Bar, in one of its restaurant cozy lounges or in the nice terrace overlooking the Plaza Constitución.
